The North Folk region of Long Island has some of the best wineries and great tasting wine around. Channing Daughters Winery has a variety of wines for tasting and enjoying while meeting new people and engaging in conversations in front of the vineyards. Channing offers white and red varieties of wines like Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon plus reds that include Lagrein to be a part of the family soon.
Imagine taking a week to yourself with glasses of wine never empty and views of the vineyards where you can see the stomping of grapes that starts the wine process. This can be a reality. Channing does have on site events where you can sip in the atmosphere. They have wine dinners and tasting classes that offer three flights of wines that will satisfy every palette. Visit the tasting room each day, except Wednesdays. If you are member of the wine club, then it is free, but for others it is relatively inexpensive. Seven different wines are tasted daily with wine making information that will keep the conversations going until dark. You can pick up a bottle of their wine at local New York restaurants and retailers.
The art gallery at Channing pairs well with the wines. You can enjoy a glass of the 2008 Sylvanus, the 2008 Pinot Grigio, or the 2007 Clones. Te wines at Channing pair well with lamb, beef, pork, or chicken dishes or even with cheeses and sushi. They have a wine for pretty much every palette and every type of meal.
